There are three main PS4 consoles: the standard PS4, the PS4 Slim and the PS4 Pro. Which you choose will ultimately come down to personal preference, so here’s a quick guide to help you out:
PS4: The OG PS4 is a sleek, powerful console capable of playing every PS4 game on the market (as well as some older PlayStation games via the PlayStation Now streaming service). Take a look a our PS4 1TB for sale as the sweet spot between performance and capacity.
PS4 Slim: The PS4 Slim is pretty much the same as the original PS4 but, as the name suggests, 30% smaller. Ideal if you don’t have much space!
PS4 Pro: A souped-up version of the PS4. The main difference is the ability to play games in 4K, as well as some performance and graphics improvements. You’ll notice it has a third layer on top as well, although this is purely to distinguish it from the other PS4 models. Aside from that, though, the PS4 Pro plays exactly the same games as the standard PS4.
In 2020, Sony released the PS4’s successor: the PS5. If you want to check it out but don’t want to splash out, take a look at our cheap PS5 range!
