How Does Renting Work?
1. Find your perfect device and plan
Choose from our huge range of great value phones and tech, then select an initial minimum term (12 or 24 months) that suits you. We’ll run a quick credit check to verify your application (this is a hard credit check, so will show on your record).
2. Choose a payment date that suits you
Your first payment will go out as soon as your rental plan starts. After that, you’re free to choose a payment date that suits you!
3. Get your device delivered for FREE
We’ll send your device for FREE via Royal Mail’s Tracked 24 service, which means you should receive it the day after you start your rental.
4. Upgrade or continue your plan for less
After your initial agreement ends, you’ll get exclusive access to a free upgrade or the opportunity to continue your plan with your current phone and pay at least 10% less.

Rental FAQs
Do I own the device at the end of my rental agreement?
No, the device is offered on a rental agreement and remains the property of musicMagpie throughout. At the end of your agreement, you’ll have the opportunity to upgrade to a different device, renew your existing plan for a further 12 or 24 months, or return the device to us and end your rental agreement.
Can I offer to buy the device during or after my agreement?
We want to keep our rental devices in circulation for as long as possible to help protect the planet, so we don’t offer them for purchase during or after your rental. If you’d prefer to own a device, we have a huge range of phones and tech available to buy on our Store.
What happens if I lose my device or it’s stolen?
Firstly, contact our customer support team immediately so we can block it and protect your personal data.
We’ll then collect a payment equivalent to the remaining months left on your rental and the retail value of the device within 7 days of it being reported as lost or stolen.
If you find the device within 7 days of reporting it lost/stolen, let us know immediately so we can reinstate your rental agreement and remove any charges.
What happens if I break or damage my device?
Your device isn’t covered for accidental damage, so we’ll need to take a payment equivalent to the remaining months left on your rental and the existing retail value of the device.
Any technical faults are covered by our lifetime warranty. To submit a claim, log into your account and submit at return. We’ll email over a QR code so you can return your device from your nearest Post Office.
Once we’ve received your device, we’ll send a direct replacement if we have one in stock. If we don’t, we’ll cancel your rental at no further cost.
