Before you sell your Apple Watch Series 3, please save any information you wish to keep to an alternative device. You’ll also need to remove the Activation Lock setting. Just follow these easy steps:

1. Placing your Apple phone and Watch close together. 
2. Open the Apple Watch app on your mobile device and click ‘My Watch’.  
3. Tap your watch’s name at the top of your screen then press the information button (i).  
4. Click ‘Unpair Apple Watch’. For Apple Watches that are used as a mobile device, tap ‘Remove (Operator) Plan’. If you aren’t swapping to a new device make your network provider aware of this so that you can cancel your plan. Please be aware that fees may apply for early cancellations if you are in a contract.  
5. To turn off Activation Lock, enter your Apple ID password. If you don’t have this to hand, reset your device. 
6. Tap to confirm and this will unpair your device. Your iPhone will attempt to create a backup of your Apple Watch and its information, so if you decide to get an upgrade you can use this backup to transfer the information over.
